I really appreciate the disclaimer at the end re: plus size thrifting. I get so exhausted by that advice when it is not always accessible for many of us! Anyhoooo I love breaking down the season by the three elements of an outfit and I think it is going to help me shape my overflowing inspiration.
I really wish I had included that note when I first published the post, it's SO important!! I hope the 3 style elements breakdown is helpful for you, it has never steered me wrong!
I love this post. I’ve always been interested in clothes but I’m new to more intentional styling. This is part of a more purposeful approach to self care. I’ve been using Indyx since February as part of this.
Your post has inspired me to explore this even more and I’ll definitely add other things that inspire me from Pinterest such as art work to my autumn capsule wardrobe mood board.
I’ve just completed the Kettlewell colour quiz and it’s says my colours are autumn and I think I’m realising that I’m more of an autumn girl so this suits my personality. I love the coziness, slower and the lower demand of this season.
I love how you focus on colour, texture and silhouette, use 3 words to focus your autumn style and 4 words to focus your year’s style. I’ll definitely try this approach.
I just bought a pair of jeans style navy corduroy pants. Would you be open to doing a vid where you style some pieces that your subscribers have questions about? Could be fun!!
This is something I've thought about a lot! Without knowing you/your style/your needs it's hard to make any specific recommendations (that is *definitely* something we could work on in a Personal Styling Session) BUT I've thought about creating a series that offers some general ideas and directions to explore based on items sent in my followers. It's on my Fall content list- stay tuned!
love this!! i’m slowly starting to like ponchos, and this may be the year i get/knit one. also loveee the rivet clogs every time u post them in a styling roundup!
i feel like some trends are leaning more 70s with their silhouettes and textures but people are modernizing them with metal accents and color combos - I’m so here for it
You're getting me so excited for fall! I'm also trying to strike a balance between experimenting with new and leaning into what I know I like. I was really inspired by previous posts of yours where you take outfits in and out or rotation. I really connect with the idea of having set outfits that you know you like, and I'm going to try that this fall. Also loving on studs and Mongolian fur. Always loving the juxtaposition of hard and soft. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! <3
Anna Newton just did a great newsletter on her 7 uniforms for Fall (original idea from Liza Belmonte) that I really enjoyed! I love the ease of having outfits that you *know* will work for a given activity!
Thanks for the rec!! I joined Substack recently and write about my experience as a vintage clothing dealer, dive into fashion history, and interview some really cool people if thats your cup of tea! I actually watch you on Youtube so was excited to find you in this space!!

I think your idea of style themes is so clever, and I've been meditating on my own. Thus far I have:
- the shade of it all (monochrome lewks)
- 7 layered fit (I couldn't think of better word play and just really like chip dip, so this is my way of saying more layering for fall)
- keep it simple
Oh I LOVE to see it!!!!!
this was such a fun read!! i recently started with indyx, but i have so many more pieces to document. it's so fun so far!!
I'm so glad you're having fun with it!! I *loved* cataloguing my wardrobe so much!
